I’ve spent most of my life waiting.
Waiting until things felt more certain.
Waiting until I had more time.
Waiting until I felt more confident, more prepared, more healed.
Waiting until life felt ready.
Somewhere along the way, I realized that life wasn’t waiting for me.
It was happening.
Quietly. Daily. Life kept moving.
I was too busy, too worried, or too distracted to notice.
Life was there in the morning and meaningful conversations.
In laughter shared with people I love.
In quiet moments, unexpected opportunities, and moments of joy that asked for nothing more than my presence.
And yet, so often, we postpone living.
We tell ourselves that we’ll travel when life settles down. We’ll pursue the dream when the timing is better.
We’ll rest when the work is done.
We’ll wear the outfit, take the class, start the project, or say yes to the experience someday.
But what if someday is already here?
As I step into this summer season, I find myself asking a different question.
What would it look like to stop waiting?
Not because everything is perfect.
Not because all of the answers have arrived.
Not because fear has disappeared.
But simply because I am here.
This season, I am choosing to live more fully.
That doesn’t mean doing more. It doesn’t mean filling every moment or chasing an endless list of experiences.
For me, living fully looks like being present.
It looks like returning to the spaces and communities that matter to me.
It looks like saying yes to experiences that once felt distant.
It looks like nurturing myself with care and allowing joy, rest, connection, and possibility to take up space in my life.
Most of all, it looks like I’m giving myself permission.
Permission to begin before I feel completely ready.
Permission to rest without guilt.
Permission to change.
Permission to celebrate.
Permission to take up space in my own life.
Perhaps living fully isn’t a destination we arrive at once everything is sorted out.
Perhaps it is a practice.
A daily practice of choosing presence over perfection.
A practice of noticing the beauty in ordinary moments.
A practice of trusting ourselves enough to participate in our own lives as they are unfolding.
Summer has arrived, and with it, a gentle invitation.
To stop waiting.
To notice what is already here.
To give ourselves permission to live.
What would you do if you stopped waiting and gave yourself permission to live?
